Jharcraft has organised Jharkhand Fashion Festival at BNR Chanakya hotel premise in Ranchi.It was inaugurated by Chief Minister Raghubar Das.
By launching this five -day long ((May 25-29) fashion festival, Jharkhand Silk Textile & Handicraft Development Corporation Ltd (Jharcraft) has sought to provide a platform to fashion designers of the state and promote its textile hub.
At this platform, local fashion designers are displaying their products.A notable part of this event, a brainchild of Jharcraft Managing Director K.Ravikumar, was to make the leading online retailer Amazon.com market the clothes of Jharcraft in the international market.
Ravikumar, an IAS officer who did his Bachelor of Engineering at M.S.University, Tirunelveli, Master of Business Laws at National Law School of India Uinversity, Bangalore and Ph.D at Gandhigram Rural Institute, Gandhigram,Tamilnadu, has authored a book-'Poor Students:Market-Oriented Education Reforms', said:"Tasar Silk products of the state was in great demand across the world.Which is why we have decided to use Amazon.com to promote organic Tasar silk of our state-Jharkhand."
As a result, Amazon.com launched Jharcraft designed clothes online at national and international level.More, all Jharcraft products were exhibited at the venue of the festival.
On the occasion, the CM Raghubar Das, who was accompanied by Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma,appreciated Ravikumar's efforts and said that in the changing time,producers must take note of it while creating Tasar Silk clothes."We will have to move in accordance with the ongoing fashion and market demand.This was necessary to make a mark in the national and international market,"said Das.
