*Raghubar Das

By filing nomination for the Jamshedpur East Assembly seat against Raghubar Das, Saryu Rai has blown the bugle loudly against the ruling BJP.

Both leaders who belong to the ruling BJP, filed nomination papers one after another for the Jamshedpur East. It is known as a major industrial centre. Rai, Minister of Food and Civil Supply, who is known for his crusade against corruption, has been critical of the Das government.

After he was denied ticket by the BJP, he resigned from the party and quit the post of Minister. He was first elected as an MLA from Jamshedpur West constituency in 2005. He lost the 2009 assembly poll by a narrow margin of around 3000 votes to the then-candidate Banna Gupta. Prior to this, in the undivided Bihar, he served as an MLC for a six-year term from 1998 to 2004.

*Saryu Rai

In fact, Rai had exposed the fodder scam in Bihar which led to jail sentences for many senior politicians, including the then CM Lalu Yadav. He also exposed the then CM Madhu Koda case involving Iron Ore allotment scam

Alongside, Das, who is Chief Minister, has represented this Jamshedpur East constituency since 1995. He had joined the BJP in 1980. As it is, Jamshedpur East where Das is set to face Rai as his prime rival is a major industrial center. As BJP MLA, Das had won this seat since 2005.

In 2014, Das won Jamshedpur East seat for a second consecutive time. He defeated Abhay Singh of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha. Das had gained 1,03,427(61.48 %) against Congress Anand Behari Dubey and JVM Abhay Singh who secured 33,270 and 20,815 votes respectively.

*Gourab Vallabh

This time Congress Gourav Vallabh, who did a degree course from Jamshedpur based B school-XLRI. Vallabh had become Congress spokesperson. His renewed fame is rooted in his mantra he follows when he has to appear at any TV show.' if the show runs for an hour, he spends six hours on research while preparing for it," it is learned.

With this ease of mind and knowledge, he is on record having cornered the BJP's spokesperson Sambit Patra on a TV debate on the state of the Indian economy, asking him if he knew how many zeros are in '5 trillion.' Patra tried at averting the question only to have landed and drawn a lot of views for the video,now-viral by all standards, and accolades for Vallabh.

Now, with Das, Rai and Vallabh having filed nomination papers from Jamshedpur East Assembly seat, their applications have to be examined. If these were approved and they contested it,their election is bound to be watched widely by media persons. And Das who has nourished his constituency may find battle of ballots highly challenging this time.
