In disproportionate assets case, the CBI Special Court has convicted ex-Minister Enos Ekka and sentenced him and six others seven years of rigorous imprisonment and Rs 50 lakh each as fine.

In case, the convict did not pay the fine, he will have to undergo imprisonment for one more year, ruled the court in Rs 16.82 crore disproportionate assets case. All properties of Ekka were ordered to be seized and attached  

The disproportionate assets case was filed against them by Deoghar based resident Kumar Vinod. Later, after hearing a PIL, the Jharkhand High Court had ordered the CBI probe into it and the CBI had lodged FIR against them in 2009.
