*Empty Main Road at Ranchi City Centre- Paramveer Albert Ekka Chock due to 'Janata Curfew' enforced by People in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to fight Coronavirus by 'social distance' themselves.

All shops, malls and market complexes remained closed.Traffic was missing in roads, lanes, bylanes and highways across Ranchi and its adjoining areas in Jharkhand, where not a single case of Coronavirus positive case was registered till now.

Yet,the people remained at home.Even farmers and daily wage laborers were not spotted in fields. This was the popular response of people to 'Janata Curfew' called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In fact, the Prime Minister's call for observing 'Janata Curfew' on Sunday to contain the outbreak of COVID-19 and salute people including doctors, nurses, policemen and journalists who had risked their life to save Coronavirus patients,Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren had supported it.

Result was visible in the form of almost complete lock down in Ranchi as  people did not come on roads immediately after the end of curfew time as it can nullify the measure.

Noting that people have extended both moral and societal support to this unique curfew, most BJP leaders and workers had on Saturday said:"Your coming out in open can nullify the 14-hour measure to contain the spread of virus. As a co-operation to authorities and the society, please remain indoors and stay with your near and dear ones," he said in a release.

Calling for "resolve and restraint" to fight the virus, the Prime Minister during his address to the nation on Thursday had asked the entire country to observe 'Janata curfew' on March 22,2020.
