The COVID-19 tally is increasing by the day. So much that during the past 10 days, as many as 932 positive cases were registered.

On June 1, the number of positive cases was 675 whereas, on June 11, it went up to 1607. Among them, 1311 were migrant workers who had come home in different parts of Jharkhand from far-flung cities in the country.

A district-wise analysis revealed that tribal-dominated Simdega figured at the top with 229 positive cases. Second in the list is another tribal inhabited East Singhbhum with 225 positive cases till June 11, 2020. However, Godda district remains free from the COVID-19 pandemic.   

As per the state health department, the active cases in the state stood at 969. In all, eight deaths have been reported so far.
As per the Union Health Ministry, the total number of coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 2,97,535 including 1,41,842 active cases, 1,47,195 cured/discharged/migrated, and 8,498 deaths.
