The 22nd Foundation day function in Jharkhand today when Droupadi Murmu became the first President to visit Ulihatu, the birthplace of Birsa Munda, in Khunti, Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren looked distressed. Reason?

Inquiry revealed that CM Soren is not happy as the Enforcement Directorate has refused to change his date of appearance before it at his office near Ranchi Airport on November 17.

Soren had requested the ED to allow him to appear before it on Wednesday, a day prior to the scheduled day of appearance on Thursday. However, the federal agency has turned down the request. Why the central agency turned down his request?

“ We have technical reasons”, said a source in the ED. The central agency has asked the DGP to take appropriate measures to maintain law and order around its office in the capital city of Ranchi.

As it is, after Soren preferred not to appear before it after receiving its summon, ED served him summon for the second time calling him to appear for questioning on November 17.
