With teachers and staff on strike,the state government run schools were paralysed.This had prompted Jharkhand Education Project Director Mukesh Kumar to threaten them of action if they did not return to work immediately.

In a statement,Kumar on Saturday told them that the state government is examining their demands positively and seriously.”They should return to duty.Otherwise,action can be taken against them”,threatened Kumar in a press conference.

All these teachers and staff who were on strike demanding regularisation and hike in their salaries have been working on a contract basis for years.All of them want their jobs regularised and salaries hiked in accordance with the VI Pay Commission Recommendations.

These contract Para teachers and staff have been on strike since September 17,2016.Other teachers of Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential schools were on strike since October 13,2016.
