With Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcing the reduction of LPG cylinder prices by Rs 100, the women across the country were in cheers on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

“This will significantly ease the financial burden on millions of households across the country, especially benefiting our Nari Shakti. 

By making cooking gas more affordable, we also aim to support the well-being of families and ensure a healthier environment. This is in line with our commitment to empowering women and ensuring ‘Ease of Living’ for them,” the Prime Minister wrote on social media platform X. 

The above move was part of a number of decisions taken by the Cabinet headed by PM Modi.

Other major Cabinet decisions were taken ahead of the General Elections. These were as follows:

*IndiaAI Mission* to Strengthen the AI Innovation Ecosystem in the country approved with a budget outlay of Rs.10,371.92 crores 

*₹300 targeted subsidy to PM Ujjwala Yojana* Consumers extended by one year till 31.3.2025. 10.27 crore beneficiaries will be covered. 

*UNNATI 2024 Scheme* with an outlay of Rs 10,037 crores approved for giving impetus to industrialization of the North East Region. Includes various incentives for setting of new units and expansion of existing units. 

*Minimum Support Price for Raw Jute* for 2024-25 Season hiked by ₹ 285 per quintal to ₹ 5,335 per quintal. Jute farmers in West Bengal, Assam and Bihar to benefit most. 

*Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief* for Central Government Employees and Pensioners hiked by 4% from 46% to 50%. Gratuity limit increased to Rs 25 lakhs from Rs 20 lakhs.
