At a time when the NDA block comprising BJP and AJSU has not been able to formulate seat sharing formula, the INDI alliance partners comprising JMM, Congress, RJD and communists have reached an agreement in Jharkhand.

Jharkhand has 14 LS seats. In the previous LS elections, in 2019, the BJP-AJSU Party alliance had won 11 and 1 Lok Sabha seats respectively in the state, while the Congress and the JMM bagged one seat each.

Notably, ahead of 2024 LS polls, the Congress MP Geeta Koda has quit the Congress and joined the BJP.

As far as seat sharing agreement is concerned this time, among these constituencies, the Congress will contest from seven seats whereas the JMM will field candidates from five constituencies.

The rest two seats will be shared one each by the RJD and the CPI.An agreement toward this end was sealed in New Delhi on Wednesday.
