As we all know, the traffic problem is increasing day by day in the capital city Ranchi.
There are many main reasons for this.
Distorted urbanization, the increase in population, and the increase in the number of vehicles are the 3 biggest factors causing traffic problems in Ranchi.
With the formation of crooked urbanization, the roads are not wide enough and not linear enough to provide traffic flow quickly.
As a result, people see blocked roads, big queues, and angry drivers.
The number of vehicles going to traffic is increasing every day and the existing roads are not enough and the traffic problem is growing.
After the district administration prohibited movement of commercial vehicles at peak hours, there has been ease in movement of vehicles.
However, two reforms are urgently needed to be introduced to further smoothen traffic on roads in Ranchi.
One, prohibit movement of Ranchi Municipal Corporation’s vehicles on all roads after 8 am in the morning. This means cleaning and picking up garbage from roads and dustbins must be completed between 3 am and 8 am every day, a feature common to metros and cities such as Lucknow and Delhi.
Second, put a ban on dharna and make shift Pandals of the potential agitators on the Morahabadi ground. This move can help prevent the police to spend scores of efforts and fund on putting up barricades along roadsides surrounding the Governor and Chief Minister’s residence.In effect, the traffic will remain normal in absence of barricades.
Even deployment of security forces will not be required in areas surrounding the Governor and CM’s office and residence.
More, people should be informed especially about traffic and be warned about the violation of traffic by launching dharna and procession on main roads in Ranchi.
Of course, many studies and projects are done on this subject. Renovated roads, new roads, and many more investments are also ended for the improvement of traffic.
Today, these warnings are made very often.
The biggest reason for the traffic, especially in the morning commute hours and in the evening, is the widespread use of private vehicles.
Now you will say how do we go faster using public transportation?
The answer is, of course, simple.
As the number of vehicles in traffic decreases, traffic will not occur and public transportation vehicles will be able to take you to your destination more quickly.
This is one of the simplest methods to solve traffic problems.
Of course, just turning to public transportation will not solve our business.
Please note that one of the most effective ways to reduce traffic congestion is to raise our awareness.
The state administration as wells the people should not only wait for the solution to the problem from the authorities but also try ourselves. We have to ask ourselves. What are we doing to prevent traffic jams?
Actually, Ranchi has the answer. But citizens don’t do anything. They are so used to the comfort of the car that they believe that traffic jam is a fate. So, think it is a must to experience traffic chaos.
However, this is not the case.
