Two CRPF jawans were airlifted and admitted in hospital in Ranchi after they were seriously injured in an IED blast in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.

The IED blast was triggered by suspected Maoists in the Chaibasa district of Jharkhand on Thursday, according to the police.

The incident occurred in Mankey area near Jaraikela in Saranda forest, one of Asia’s thickest forests, when the CRPF personnel were conducting a search operation.

The search operation is still going on, it is learnt.
