Jyoti Agrawal together with her husband Ravi Agrawal were returning home after having dinner at Punjab restaurant located along NH, near Kanderbeda Mod falling under Chandil police station area of Saraikela- Kharsawan district on Friday night.  

They were in their car. Suddenly, a gang criminals opened fire on Ravi Agrawal. The bullet failed to hit him. Another bullet hit his wife Jyoti Agrawal who suffered serious injury. 

After opening fire, the gang disappeared from the spot of the crime.After the injured Jyoti Agrawal was picked up by people and taken to TMH hospital where she was declared dead. Saraikela- Kharsawan SP Kishore Kaushal along with his colleague reached TMH and launched operation to nab the culprits. 

 No arrest was made till 3.40 pm on Saturday. The police suspect the murder of Jyoti Agrawal was result of ransom demanded by culprits and not paid by Ravi Agrawal. “ Other angles were also part of investigation”, says Saraikela- Kharsawan SP Kishore Kaushal.
