It’s clear now that Dumka Lok Sabha constituency will witness a battle of ballots between BJP’s Sita Soren and JMM’s Nalin Soren. 

This became evident after the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) named Nalin Soren as its candidate from the Dumka constituency today. 

This ended speculation over party leader Hemant Soren being fielded against his sister-in-law and BJP candidate Sita Soren. 

On Thursday, the ruling party in Jharkhand named its candidates on two seats for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. While Nalin Soren is fielded from Dumka, Mathura Mahto will contest from Giridih.

This decision was taken after CM Champai Soren and Congress state unit chief Rajesh Thakur met Ex CM Hemant Soren inside Hotwar jail in Ranchi this morning. 

Sita Soren, wife of late JMM leader Durga Soren, had joined the BJP on March 19. She was given a ticket to contest from Dumka by the party. The JMM will contest the Lok Sabha polls in alliance with Congress and other parties.

As per the seat-sharing agreement, the JMM will contest five seats while the Congress will field its candidates on seven seats out of the total 14 in Jharkhand.
