Responding to the summon issued by the ED, the Congress MLA Amba Prasad on Monday reached its office in Ranchi.

Amba Prasad, accompanied by her brother Ankit Raj, was spotted carrying a copy of the ED summon and her Aadhaar card.

Before landing at the ED office, she had released a musical video to be played by Adivasis during their annual festival Sarhul. The musical theme of this video is “no fear …”.

Right now, when this report is being filed for publication, the ED sleuths were interrogating her.

Sarhul is celebrated during the spring season when Saal trees get new flowers on their branches. It is a worship of the village deity who is considered to be the protector of the tribes. People sing and dance a lot when the new flowers appear. This time, Sarhul is on April 11.

The deities are worshiped with saal flowers.” It’s during this festival, my musical video will be played”, said Amba Prasad. She informed that she had demanded 15- day time to respond to ED’s summon.

But the ED did not allow and hence she has appeared before it. Prior to her father of Amba Prasad was interrogated by ED sleuths. She has sought inquiry into all cases so that she claims, “ truth should come out in public.”

Records show that the Enforcement Directorate on March 12 conducted searches at 17 locations linked to Congress MLA Amba Prasad in Jharkhand, including her official residence in Ranchi and the premises of her relatives.

The searches were related to a land scam and illegal possession of moveable and immovable property and money laundering.

Amba Prasad’s mother Nirmala Devi was present at the native house in Hazaribagh when the agency had conducted the search there; her father Yogendra Sao had gone to Delhi. Both parents were once MLAs of the Congress and represented the coal mining reach Barkagaon Assembly constituency in Ramgarh district of Jharkhand.

What is noteworthy is that on the occasion of International Women’s Day in 2022, she arrived at the Assembly on horseback. She had said that the horse was gifted by Colonel (retired) Ravi Rathore.

During the searches at Amba Prasad’s premises, the ED officials had seized the mobile phones of all the staff and nobody was allowed to go outside the house.

Amba Prasad, who was present at her official residence, stepped out only once and showed the victory sign to the media and her supporters.
