For the first time, two annual festivals of two different communities - Meethi Eid or Eid Ul Fit of Muslims and Sarhul of Adivasis- will be celebrated on Thursday when electric supply will remain shut in Jharkhand.

The electric supply will be disconnected from post noon till 10 am, according to the state electricity board. Meethi Eid or Eid Ul Fit is going to be celebrated on April 11, in India including Jharkhand where Sarhul will also be celebrated.

According to the state government directive, all offices will hold a full-day holiday on the festival - Id-Ul-Fitr and Sarhul.

Sarhul is celebrated during spring season and the Saal trees get new flowers on their branches. It is a worship of the village deity who is considered to be the protector of the tribes.

Adivasis, both male and female sing and dance a lot when the new flowers appear. The deities are worshiped with saal flowers.

The Adivasis sing and dance and move on roads for hours. As a preventive measure, the electric supply is put off. This can cause inconvenience to people, especially Muslims who will celebrate Eid or Eid Ul Fit.
