ED raids premises of JMM leader Antu Tirkey who is facing the charge of supporting ex-CM Hemant Soren in money laundering connected with a land scam. 

Reports say Enforcement Directorate sleuths were carrying out search operations in different locations linked to Tirkey. The ED raids were in connection with the same land scam in Ranchi. 

Tirkey’s residence is located in Bariatu. The other people whose premises are also being raided include Congress leader and land broker Priya Ranjan Sahay. 

Sahay, who lives in Kokar, is learnt to have procured forged documents from the Kolkata Registry office and sold land to several bigwigs. Sahay was involved in a transaction to sell a large chunk of land in Chandwe, on the outskirts of Ranchi, to a Kolkata-based businessman. 

From available information, these raids are being conducted on the information extracted from Md. Saddam Hussain, mastermind of making fake deeds, in the land scam case related to former Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Saddam is in the custody of the ED. 

The ED has so far arrested Amit Agarwal, Dilip Ghosh, former Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi Chhavi Ranjan, Revenue Sub Inspector of Bargain Bhanu Pratap Prasad, Pradeep Bagchi, land brokers Afsar Ali, Imtiaz Khan, Talha Khan in the land scam.
