Md. Saddam Hussain, accused in Jharkhand’s land scam case in connection with which the state’s chief minister Hemant Soren resigned before being arrested and sent to jail early this year, was sent to jail on Saturday.

This was in accordance with the order passed by the PMLA court in Ranchi on Saturday. Md. Saddam Hussain was in custody of the Enforcement Directorate for ten days since he was arrested on April 10.

Records show that Md Saddam and the gang used to fabricate the land records of Bargai land having an area of 8.86 acres at the behest of Bhanu Pratap in connivance with Hemant Soren?"

Apart from Soren and Saddam, Bhanu Pratap who is another arrested accused in the case, is in jail. ED had filed a production application before the Special PMLA Court to produce Md Saddam Hussain.

Then, the Special PMLA Court issued a production warrant to produce Md Saddam Hussain on 9th April and ED arrested him and sought custodial interrogation.

Earlier Saddam was already in jail as he was arrested in a different land scam case, but the central agency formally arrested him again and took him in three days remand to begin with.
