The PMLA special Court today heard the bail petition filed by the former state Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

In response, the court didn’t provide any relief as the ED had not submitted counter affidavit despite receiving its notice.

However, the court ordered the Enforcement Directorate to submit counter affidavit giving details of its submission against Soren’s petition seeking bail. Soren’s case was argued by Supreme Court lawyer Kapil Sibal.

The ED’s counsel sought 15- days time to submit its reply affidavit. However, the court ordered allowing the ED to file its counter affidavit till April 30 and posted its hearing on May 1.

It may be noted that Soren was arrested on January 31st in connection with a money laundering case linked to an alleged land scam case by the Enforcement.
