Out of jail on provisional bail, ex CM Hemant Soren landed in his home village Nemra to participate in martyrdom rituals of his uncle late Rajaram Soren.  

Hemant wore a bearded look not seen before. After reaching Nemra in Ramgargh district of Jharkhand,Soren family encircled him who was in police custody.

Hemant Soren met his father Shibu Soren and mother Rupi Soren who looked emotionally charged to hug him.  

Then, ex CM Hemant Soren met his wife Kalpana Soren who accompanied him along with his two sons. Hemant Soren’s elder uncle Rajaram Soren who was ailing for long had died on April 27. 

Later Hemant Soren sought interim bail. Jharkhand High Court granted him permission to participate in the last rites ceremonies of his late uncle, Raja Ram Soren under police custody and directed him to take part in funeral function without communicating with media. 

In his application, Soren had prayed for grant of provisional bail in connection with an ECIR Case registered under Section 3 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. Hemant has been in custody since January 31 over allegations linked to an alleged land scam that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating.
