Union Home Minister and Senior BJP leader Amit Shah on Friday mobilised people in Dumka for his party candidate Sita Soren, daughter-in-law of JMM supremo Shibu Soren. 

The meeting successfully conducted and attended by scores of Adivasi and Mulwasi(non-Adivasi locals) seems to have energized Sita Soren and her supporters belonging to the BJP in Dumka where polls are slated to be held during the seventh phase on June 1. 

Mr. Shah said that his party will “honour and give justice” to Sita Soren who was denied justice by JMM leader and former Chief Minister Hemant Soren. 

Sita Soren, widow of Shibu Soren’s late eldest son Durga Soren has been fielded by the BJP from Dumka Lok Sabha seat in Jharkhand. 

Addressing an election rally in the Jamtara area of Dumka on Friday, Shah, criticized Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Congress alliance and alleged that both parties are competing with each other in committing corrupt activities. 

Mr. Shah said that the BJP has worked toward the development of the tribal community and Santhals in the state. He said the Santhali language has been included in the 8th schedule of the constitution under BJP rule. 

He also said that naxalism was flushed out from different areas of the state like Giridih and Budha Pahad under the Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre. 

Alleging that cattle smuggling is on the rise in the state, he assured that if the BJP government comes to power in Jharkhand, legislation will be brought in that will completely stop cow smuggling. 

He said, that 11.65 lakh beneficiaries in the state have been given Ayushman Cards, 4.60 lakh have received gas connections under Ujjwala Yojana; besides, 3.30 lakh households have been connected with Har Ghar Nal Se Jal Yojana. 

He said the budget allocated to the tribal welfare department has been increased manifold to 1.25 lakh in 10 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
