Far away from Puri in Odisha is Dhurwa, Ranchi, in Jharkhand. Both sites have one commonality - Jagannath Mandir.
Now, the Odisha government has said it will conduct an inquiry into why the duplicate keys of the inner chamber of the Ratna Bhandar, the treasury of the 12th-century Jagannath temple in Puri, could not open the locks on July 14, Sutan Panda says,” Till Bhagwan Jagannath does not allow, the inner chamber of the Ratna Bhandar will not open.”
He adds: “ Forget what the committee will do. Bhagwan will show the way- today or tomorrow.”
Notwithstanding his prediction, there is a lot of speculation and suspicion among followers of the Bhagwan Jagannath about the Ratna Bhandar of the famous Jagannath temple in Puri.
Officially, the Ratna Bhandar was reopened on July 14 after 46 years for an inventory of valuables and the repair of its structure.
In fact, Members of a special committee tried their best to open three locks on the doors of the inner chamber of the treasury, but not one of them could be opened with the two 'duplicate' keys available with the Puri district administration, PTI quotes Jagannath temple chief administrator Arabinda Padhee as saying.
