As many as a dozen people sustained injuries in a clash that broke out between two factions during the Muharram procession in Jharkhand’s Jharia police station area in Dhanbad. 

The incident occurred in Jharia in the Dhanbad district. The clash reportedly erupted after two groups of processions clashed resulting in physical fighting and stone pelting. 

More than half a dozen persons were injured, reports said. Some individuals allegedly threw a fire balloon and chairs at the procession participants. 

The police intervened and managed to persuade both groups to maintain peace. As many as 14 people, including two policemen and a journalist, sustained injuries in the incident.
