Death of Vinay Kumar Singh,Constable cum driver of the escort vehicle of Jharkhand police, Vinay Kumar(45), and injury to five other cops, in a road accident on Tuesday night indicates that former Chief Minister  Champai Soren continued to zip around using government vehicles and other facilities such as official residence, security guards and telecom.

There is nothing illegal since Champai Soren is the state Minister of Water Resources.However, since he has made public his sentiments against the Hemant Soren government and expressed his desire to float a new political party, ethics demand that he ought to have quit the posts of Minister and MLA of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.

Champai Soren has not done so till Thursday morning. This has raised question over his sense of morality.

Incidentally, Champai Soren had on Wednesday announced his decision to float a new political party amid growing tensions within the the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha,the party to which Soren has dedicated most of his political career.

When reminded that he has not much time left for floating a new party before the state goes to polls by the year end, Soren said, "That's not your problem."

“When 30,000-40,000 workers can arrive within a day, then what problem will I have in forming a new (political party),” he added, asserting that the party will be formed within a week.

However, before he sets up a new party, he should not only resign from his old party JMM that helped him become the Minister and the CM, but also from the post of Minister.
