A day after former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), another ex-CM Madhu Koda and expelled JMM leader Lobin Hembrom switched sides.
Former Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren joined the BJP on Friday, two days after he resigned from the JMM citing dissatisfaction with the party’s current style of functioning and facing "bitter humiliation".
The joining of the 67-year-old leader to the BJP is seen as a significant boost for the party’s efforts to strengthen its connection with the Scheduled Tribes, a strong support base of the JMM.

The veteran politician, who was known to be close to JMM chief Shibu Soren, was visibly emotional after he was welcomed into the saffron fold.
Expelled JMM leader Lobin Hembrom also joins BJP on Saturday. Hembrom was expelled from JMM for 6 years earlier this year.
After joining BJP, Hembrom said, "We worked with loyalty in JMM.We are still devotees of Guruji (Shibu Soren). He taught us to oppose the wrong... we tried to take JMM to reach one goal. We had believed in Hemant that the tribals would get justice and development, today the bow and arrow have no power."
