Ahead of the Durga Puja, the Railways Protection Force has arrested two persons for selling railway tickets on the black market.
During the Durga Puja,gaing reserved seats in trains is difficult due to rush of people returning home or going out to tourist sites.
This was being used by railway ticket black marketeers, arrest of two persons has revealed.
They were arrested on Friday (September 13) during a raid at the Cyber shop, Edalhatu in Ranchi.
On a tip off, their arrest took place in an operation “ Uplabdh” launched by the RPF in league with the Jharkhand police’s Flying Team.
The operation was led by RPF’s Assistant Security Commissioner Ashok Kumar Singh.
The arrested persons were: Pappu Miya(40) from whose possession 12 Railway E- Tickets worth Rs 20,700 were recovered.These tickets were booked under his personal ID and handed over to customers at higher price.
Another person arrested from the Cyber cafe was Manish Kumar(42). The RPF has recovered 7 railway E tickets worth Rs 39,000. Manish Kumar has reportedly acknowledged the crime committed by him. The two persons were booked under Railways’ Section 179.
