BJP workers stage protest over frequent power cuts, water shortage in Jharkhand
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday held a protest in Ranchi over prolonged power cuts in the district and state.
The protest stated from inside Zila School ground and ended at the office of Ranchi Deputy Commissioner.Most BJP workers, especially women were carrying empty vessel ( pot, kettle), empty water bottles.
Billed as “ Trahimam Yatra” ( Procession expressing anger) the protest was held under several BJP leaders including BJP senior leader and ex Speaker CP Singh, BJP MLA Naveen Jaiswal, Ex MP Yadunath Pandey, Ranchi Mahanagar President KK Gupta.
The BJP leaders warned that if the Jharkhand government led by CM Hemant Soren doesn’t improve the power situation soon, they will intensify the protest.
CP Singh said that at present, 12 to 14-hour power cuts are being witnessed all over Jharkhand which have made the life of the common man difficult.
Addressing the gathering, CP Singh said that the JMM government, which came to power by making false promises, is now forcing the common man to cry for power.
“ It’s unfortunate that whenever the Soren government has been in power power shortage and supply of water gets affected.”
