Orphan calf and his foster mother elephant of Birsa Munda Zoo
It’s a story of two elephants. One is an orphan elephant calf and another female elephant. They have their own background. The calf lost mother and the Forest Division staff of Porahat in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand rescued it and brought to Birsa Munda Zoo in the outskirts of Ranchi, capital of Jharkhand state of India on March 26, 2020. Kept in quarantine and intensive care given for almost two months by Zoo managers. Finally, orphan calf bonded with a female elephant called “Lakhi Rani” of the Zoo, and now orphan calf elephant was enjoying life with foster mother- Lakhi Rani inside Birsa Munda Zoo.
