Reacting to media reports that AJSU was trying to tie up with the saffron party for the Assembly polls, five-time party MP Ram Tahal Choudhary has  urged the BJP national president Amit Shah not to go for such an alliance with anyone for the upcoming Assembly elections.

He said, “The party should not ally with those who had challenged the BJP in Lok Sabha elections. They have lost people’s support, so they want to ally with the BJP”.

“I have written a letter to our party president saying BJP workers have worked very hard to strengthen the party in the state. We can win majority on our own and need not have any alliance with anyone,” he has said.

The party’s national vice-president Raghuvar Das is already on record saying the party would contest all the 81 seats on its own.

Meanwhile Shakuntala Jaiswal of JVM is likely to resign from the party and join the BJP.
