Jharkhand Mukti Morcha president Shibu Soren has recently started showing interest in the digital world.

At the age of 70, Mr. Soren has started learning about the social media with the help of his grand daughters. He finds it as a more efficient way to connect with people for Assembly elections campaign in comparison to the age old man-to-man contact.

as been convinced about the importance of new-age communication gizmos by his grand daughters Jayashree, Rajashree and Vijayshree.

According to party sources, Mr. Soren was reluctant about treading on the path of other political parties by resorting to digital ways of campaign.

The transformation came when some images related to the tribal movement of 1960s and 70s from the party’s archive were showed to Mr. Soren.

In September this year, JMM had launched its digital platform. Chief Minister Hemant Soren too has a Facebook account which he uses to connect with people.

The party has a toll free number 18002009621 and an active website jharkhandmuktimorcha.org, with which it has planned to counter BJP’s high tech campaign.  It has also introduced LED fitted and satellite linked campaign vehicles which would live cast the speeches of elder Soren and his son at 25 different locations simultaneously.
