With the President’s Rule facilitating the Congress to use it to sharpen its image rather than take risk to swim with unpredictable JMM,RJD and tainted Independents such as Enos Ekka and Hari Narain Rai,the BJP is engaged in oiling its party machine.
After a series of meetings in Ranchi and New Delhi,BJP’s ex MLA Ravindra Rai is likely to be appointed as the party’s state unit president.
Rai,who had quit the BJP to join former CM Babulal Marandi’s Jharkhand Vikas Morcha only to part ways with him and re join the BJP,is backed by former CM Arjun Munda.
Alongside,Munda is planning to hit the roads by undertaking ‘Jan Yatra’across Jharkhand.
Although the schedule of his yatra is not decided yet,he is set to target the Congress,JMM and JVM and tell the people that during his two year tenure as CM of Jharkhand,he had launched several development projects such as empowerment of the girl child, rice at Re one kg for the poorest of the poor, construction of roads and highways, airport at Deoghar and Jamshedpur and introduced power reforms by allowing private companies to supply electricity in Ranchi,Jamshedpur,Dhanbad and Bokaro.
Many of his plans like distribution of lap tops among students, bridges in Ranchi and empowerment of the Panchayat representatives were spiked during the President’s Rule.Munda is sure to tell the people that the Congress had connived with the JMM and toppled his government for its own vested interests.
The BJP president Raj Nath Singh is monitoring the party. After Singh’s approves the appointment of Rai and a set of new office bearers of the party are made public,Munda may launch his Jan Yatra.
