Ex-BJP MLA Gulshan Azmani among 53 accused has been convicted in a multi-million rupee fodder scam case( RC 48A/96).
At the time of the FIR filed by the CBI in 1996, Azmani was the MLA of the BJP. After his name figured in the fodder scam, the BJP high command had set him aside from the party.
As many as 124 accused were facing trial in this case. However, in this case, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, who was convicted in five fodder scam cases, was not the accused.
During the undivided Bihar, when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Chief Minister, Rs 36.59 crore was illegally withdrawn from the Doranda treasury between 1990 and 1995.
The judgement was delivered by the CBI Special Court of Justice Vishal Srivastava on Monday.
