Adivasis under the banner of Central Sarna Samiti today held procession protesting against the Enforcement Directorate’s summon to Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the money laundering connected with land scam and illegal mining cases. 

Scores of Adivasis, many of whom were carrying red and white flags of the Sarna Samiti gathered near Governor House in Ranchi.Their leader Ajay Tirkey criticised the opposition BJP saying it was using the central agency to jail opposition leaders.

“It is hand in glove with the BJP because the ED does not act against its leaders.Had it been neutral, it would have arrested BJP leaders also. This did not happen”, Tirkey told the gathering. 

Also,Tirkey threatens that in ( West)Bengal, stones were used against the ED. In Jharkhand, arrows will be used …”. 

The Sarna Samiti’s procession in Ranchi comes two days after JMM workers enforced bandh, road blockades in protest against the ED’s summons to CM Hemant Soren,in Sahebgunj on January 17. 

Notably, traffic on main roads of Kutchery, Morahabadi, Ratu road and Lalpur was paralysed for over two hours, causing untold miseries to people.  

Further,Tirkey warned that their protest will continue.Till when in what form? No body knows.

Notably, in response to its eighth summon, CM Hemant Soren has agreed to get questioned by the ED inside his CM’s office in Kanke Road in Ranchi on January 20.
