The bureaucracy responsible for implementation of the UPA government’s flagship scheme-MNREGA-in Jharkhand,is up in arms demanding pay hike and perks.

This bureaucracy comprises Block Project Officer,Account Assistant,Computer Assistant and Rojgar Sevak. Under the banner of Jharkhand Rajya Manrega Karmchari Sangh,they launched their three day strike yesterday.

Today,they boycotted the work with the resolve to do so tomorrow as well.In effect,all works related with the implementation and payment to MNREGA workers came to a grinding halt.

Their demands include:ensure their service upto 60 years,payment of their remunerations in accordance with the sixth pay commission,they be provided with health,EPF,holiday,compensation,accident insurance(Rs ten lakh) and job to the kin of their dependent on compassionate ground.

The state government under the ongoing President’s Rule is yet to respond to their demands.
