Jharkhand Public Service Commission has introduced a reform allowing candidates of the civil services preliminary test(PT) exams to take away a copy of the answer sheet.

“The decision has already been taken in this regard”,said JPSC’s Examination Controller Sumant Sinha.

This reform, out to make the JPSC’s examination and its result transparent,is first of its kind in the country and is set to become effective from the forthcoming Fifth Jharkhand Administrative Service PT Exams. No other State had taken this initiative facilitating candidates to record their answers for self evaluation.

As per Sinha’s claim, every candidate is supposed to get a question paper with two copies sandwitched by a carbon paper. So when he/she answers the question,it gets recorded on two copies. At the end of exams, the original is supposed to be kept by the examiner for evaluation, while the carbon copy can be taken away for his/her own record.

In the past,JPSC had got badly discredited due to large scale bungling and scams perpetrated by its office bearers.More than a dozen examinations conducted by it in the past were still being probed by the CBI.

In any case, the reform,if introduced in letter and spirit, can help it bring shine to its image.
