Directing the Chief Secretary of Jharkhand,the National Human Rights Commission(NHRC) has sought the inquiry report connected with the case of manhandling of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC)’s DGM Rakesh Nandan Sahay by Hazaribagh Deputy Commissioner within four weeks.

In fact,Hazaribagh DC Sunil Kumar had allegedly manhandled Sahay inside his official residence in Hazaribagh last year.Subsequently,responding to the complaint and FIR filed by Sahay,the Chief Minister had directed Kumar to explain the entire incident and also ensured that the case was inquired into.
The inquiry was conducted by Jharkhand Additional Chief Secretary and incharge of Home Department N.N.Pandey.However,the state government had not made the report public.Neither any action was taken against Kumar,an IAS officer.

Now,the NHRC has directed the CS to make available to it the report latest by February 29.The NHRC has also directed the Director General of Police to inform it the status of investigation into the criminal case and action taken by the police against the alleged culprit within four weeks.
