After Assam, there were several other states demanding updation of the citizenship registry.

Jharkhand is one of them, This became apparent after a team from Jharkhand was in Guwahati to study Assam’s NRCNSE 2.22 % model. 

This was made public by Additional Director General of Assam Police (Special Branch) Pallab Bhattacharya who told media persons that “A team from Jharkhand had come to study the Assam model NRC updation.” 

Even in Meghalaya, the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) had met Meghalaya Chief Minister and submitted a proposal for an Assam-type NRC.
