Investigations revealed that Jharkhand is faced with a threat to slip into phase 3 of Coronavirus community spread.

Why?

Take the case of Ranchi based Lake View Hospital,a venue of COVID-19 transmission ever since retired DDC had tested positive only to die in Medanta, Delhi on April 18.

This became evident on Wednesday when its another patient tested positive.He was admitted and treated there for days.

Since this patient hails from Garhwa and had returned to Garhwa,he posed threat to all those with whom he had come in contact with.

The Garhwa patient's case has again opened a pandora box raising a serious question connected with private doctors.Who had diagnosed him at Hill View Hospital?

Are they RIMS doctors doing unauthorised private practice? Don't they pose a potential threat to RIMS hospital complex?With whom this COVID-19 plus patient had come in contact with?

The answer to these questions has to be provided by the Hemant Soren government and its health department.

Sadly,instead of adhering to the ICMR guidelines advising the state health department to track the contact list of the coronavirus positive patient and quarentine them, it appeared to be busy providing food and money to the poor people and migrant workers of Jharkhand who were stranded in different parts of India.

Against this background,the Garhwa COVID -19 plus patient is the latest case showing the Soren government was face to face with a massive challenge toward its prime duty - contact tracing /testing/quarentine them in accordance with ICMR guidelines.

If the state government functionaries have to prevent community spread of COVID-19, they must practice South Korean model in letter and spirit.Otherwise, it can cause untold miseries and deaths.
