Jharkhand has made public it's status on Coronavirus impact on people showing the growth rate of positive cases was less than 3 percent.

More details were shared by Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Secretary, Department of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare.

Kulkarni said that till today afternoon the number of Corona Virus positive patients in the state is 125. Among them, 34 patients have already recovered. 

There are 89 positive cases still active in the state. Kulkarni said that the growth rate of corona positive patients in Jharkhand is 2.52 percent. 

So far, 15,130 tests have been done across the state. A total of 99.17 percent of the test for the Covid-19 patients recorded negative. 

He said that the state has a mortality rate of 2.4 percent from Covid-19 infection. Kulkarni addressed media with Amitabh Kaushal, Secretary, Disaster Management and K Ravi Kumar, Transport Secretary at Project building.

Kulkarni said that a total of 46 containment zones have been marked in the state. About 71,868 families reside in the total containment zone. 

As of now, 8,071 people have been sampled from various containment zones in the state. He said that the State Government is constantly monitoring the health of students and migrant laborers coming back from other states. There is no lack nor negligence on health check-ups.

He said that from April 28 to May 5, 2020, only eight new positive cases were reported. But in the last days again this figure has increased and 10 positive cases were found in a single day. He said that it is possible that the number of positive cases may reduce daily.

Nitin Madan Kulkarni said that the state government is constantly making efforts to expedite the process of testing in the state in view of the rising statistics of Covid-19 infection. Testing centers are being set up in each district for Covid-19 check-up.

Kulkarni informed that a list of 51,935 pregnant women in the state has been prepared by the Health Department. 

According to this list, these pregnant women are due for delivery by the end of May. He said that it is the priority of the government to provide all the medical facilities related to the timely delivery of pregnant women as per the protocol.

Kulkarni said that on 4 May, the state government has instructed the government doctors and medical institutions to look after and treat the patients suffering from other diseases than Covid-19 with a priority. 

The medical institutions will ensure the treatment of all patients, he said adding that it will be the responsibility of the hospitals that there should be no negligence in the treatment of other patients.

Amitabh Kaushal said that those laborers who are still stranded in other states can register themselves on the control room number and helpline number issued by the state government. 

The state government is continuously working to bring back the migrant laborers as a priority by coordinating with various state governments of the country. 

He said that there is no need to pay any kind of rent or money while coming back. He said that till now migrant laborers from 12 trains have returned to Jharkhand and the process is still going on.
