Located at over 2100 feet above seas level, Ranchi, capital of Jharkhand, was described by a West Bengal Tourist as"Heaven on Earth."

Though it was blessed with rich natural flora and fauna from waterfalls, hills, zoos, gardens and parks, it suffered, like any other city in India, from smoke and air pollution. So much that trees, plants, hills and air space were packed with dust.

However, due to the coronavirus lockdown, the leaves of trees and plants and the air space have turned green. Birds appeared to be heaving a shy of relief.

To capture the changing environment due to the coronavirus lockdown, www.jharkhandstatenews.com sought to record it through a camera.

Eminent photo journalist Manoj Srivastava climbed up the Ranchi Hill and took these photographs for our distinguished viewers.
