Jharkhand’s health care system is shining with the USAID Nishtha PATH having deployed 300 Oxygen Concentrators (10 LPM) in 129 Primary Care facilities across the state.

The USAID Nishtha ‘Respiratory Care and Management’ (RCM) project aims in improving reliable access to a comprehensive respiratory care treatment package both as part of the immediate COVID-19 response and to strengthen respiratory care systems for the future requirements in the countryside.

As it is, USAID Nishtha PATH is supporting  National Health Mission (NHM ), Jharkhand, and providing technical assistance to fast-track PM Cares and State-funded PSA Plants. 

More importantly, PATH has supported NHM in the training of 426 doctors, nurses, and hospital staff on the Oxygen ecosystem, PSA, Oxygen concentrators and ICU management for the 3rd wave preparedness. 

Also, PATH will be supporting 8 Oxygen Generation Plants through Google and NSEF partnership to install need-based oxygen generation PSA plants to tackle the immediate oxygen needs arising for COVID-19 patients in healthcare facilities, who require oxygen support.

They have tools and expertise to support rigorous facility oxygen needs assessments, quantification, costing and oxygen distribution network design and facility selection. PATH, globally, has provided medical oxygen technical assistance in over 10 countries. In India, PATH provides Technical Assistance to 14 high-burden states - Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh.
