Jharkhand govt decides to reduce Tax rate of the Aviation Turbine Fuel from 20 percent to 4 percent

The State Government will reduce the tax rate of the Aviation Turbine Fuel from 20 percent to 4 percent

The State Government of Jharkhand has decided to amend serial number one of Schedule- II Part-E of Jharkhand Value Added Tax Act, 2005 in order to improve the air connectivity in the state.

Under this, the tax rate on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) will be reduced from 20 percent to 4 percent. The Notification shall be effective from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

This decision is expected to bring down the airfares. Also, apart from increasing the air connectivity in the state, this shall also provide a major boost to the tourism sector.
