West Bengal is in news following the CBI arresting North Bengal University Vice Chancellor Sabires Bhattacharya in connection with the assistant Teachers’ Recruitment scam in 2016.

 Sabires Bhattacharya was arrested today when he was called for questioning at the CBI office in Kolkata.

“ We found him escaping and not cooperating. We have solid evidences showing his involvement and as such we arrested him”, said a source in the CBI.

Notably, Bhattacharya, Ex Chairperson of the WB Central School Service Commission, was called for interrogation and reportedly due to his “ non cooperative” stand, he was arrested.
