Birsa Munda Central jail in Ranchi was the venue of Jail Adalat cum legal awareness campaign. Ranchi District Judicial Service Officer Rajesh Ranjan said that cases of petty criminal offences or criminal compoundable offences and also Under Trial Prisoners can avail the benefit of legal service.

Eight such cases were covered by Jail Adalat. Four cases were disposed off.Railway Judicial Officer Akshay Sharma and Judicial Magistrate Shraddha Bhushan spoke about laws. 

Birsa Munda Central Jail Superintendent Hamid Akhtar talked about rights and duties of prisoners.Addressing students of law who had come to make a study inside this jail,he talked about the problems suffered by prisoners and also replied questioned asked by students.

Akhtar informed that a system was created to facilitate prisoners to contact them directly. Any kind of law full problem and requirement of a lawyer can be addressed by the jail authorities, he said.
