Eid-al-Fitr has approached quickly. The shopping has picked -up momentum in Ranchi as a rush of buyers are being witnessed in almost all markets and malls.

All vendors shelling cloths and garments are continuing and will go on till late tonight.

The people along with their families coming out for shopping soon after lunch and are seen busy buying shoes, suits, ready-made garments and other items for Eid.

In Jamshedpur, most of the shopping markets in Sakchi, Bistupur and Mango have artistically been decorated and illuminated with colourful lights and bunting to attract buyers, especially tonight.

The bulk of the shopping centres and malls in Ranchi have been flooded with domestic and Bangladeshi goods as shopkeepers have displayed varieties of ready-made garments, clothes, suits, shoes, cosmetics, eye-catching jewellery and quality and quantity three-piece suits for youth that were barely visible in the past in the lucrative markets.

The marketing depicts a celebration marking the end of Ramadan, a holy month during which Muslims fast and practise devotional rituals and spiritual reflection.

As the first day of Shawwal and the end of the holy month of Ramadan, Eid-al-Fitr is a significant Islamic feast. This year, it is anticipated to be observed from Friday, April 21, to Sunday, April 23. The appearance of the moon, however, may affect the celebration's precise date.

The holiday inspires individuals to rejoice, forgive, renew their faith, and commit themselves to help others. This is an opportunity to consider Islamic principles and to be mindful of the value of unity, love, and compassion.
