In a setback to Pooja Singhal, the Supreme Court of India today refused to grant bail to IAS Pooja Singhal, suspended in a corruption and money laundering case. 

Pooja Singhal had pleaded for bail on health grounds. But the apex court refused to grant bail to her. And the court has scheduled the next hearing in this case in March 2024. 

Right now Pooja Singhal is undergoing treatment at the state-owned hospital turned jail -RIMS. After not getting bail from the High Court, Pooja Singhal has filed a petition in the Supreme Court asking for bail on health grounds. 

Notably, Pooja Singhal, a suspended IAS officer of the Jharkhand cadre, was arrested by ED on May 11, 2022, on charges of money laundering under the MNREGA scam. 

Earlier, she had approached the Supreme Court after his bail plea was rejected by the PMLA Court and the High Court. 

Now its next hearing will be two months later in March. Till then, she has to remain in RIMS turned jail for her on health grounds.
