Yes, it is true. CPI (Maoist) Naxalites have shot dead their old comrade Nelson Bhengra. Though the police are refusing to tell anything in the matter, he is learnt to have been shot dead.

Nelson Bhengra was a resident of Samatha village under Jaraikela police station of Saranda forest area. Nelson was associated with big Naxal violence for a long time. It is alleged that he was in contact with the police. 

This prompted Naxals of CPI( Maoist) to eliminate him. According to sources, at around 10 pm on January 9, armed Naxalites reached Samatha village in Saranda forest of West Singhbhum and took him away from his house. Naxalites reportedly first beat Nelson severely. 

After that he was shot dead. In the past,Bisra police station of Odisha had sent Nelson Bhengra to jail in May 2023. Nelson who was out on bail. He was jailed on charges of demanding levy from a road construction company.He was released from jail only two months ago. 

 According to information received from sources, a large number of police and CRPF personnel are conducting search operations under the leadership of Kolhan DIG Ajay Linda in the forests of Jaraikela, Manoharpur, Chotanagra area of ​​Saranda in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.

 DIG Ajay Linda himself is leading the operation in Tirilposi. Efforts to recover the dead body are also ongoing.
