* Nucleus Mall, Ranchi

Bishnu Agarwal, the owner of the swanky Nucleus Mall in Ranchi is in the news again.

This time the ED sleuths are measuring the plot of land where Nucleus Mall is located. The ED team is accompanied by Ranchi town Circle officer.

On May 10, a political controversy had erupted following a meeting of Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman with Bishnu Agrawal who was caught on camera handing over a bouquet of flowers to her in the presence of BJP state unit chief Babulal Marandi at Radisson Blu hotel.

Bishnu Agrawal is out of jail on bail in a money laundering and land scam case.

Bishnu Agrawal was arrested by the ED in connection with the case on July 19 last year for the alleged fraudulent sale of a one-acre plot in the upscale Cheshire Home Road area in Ranchi.

The Jharkhand High Court granted him bail in January this year. the Enforcement Directorate (ED) apprehended Bishnu Kumar Agrawal, a prominent businessman and proprietor of Nucleus Mall, on Monday.

Agrawal's arrest took place after an intensive six-hour-long interrogation regarding suspected irregularities in land transactions within the Ranchi region.

Nucleus Mall is located in the heart of Ranchi city with residential buildings and educational institutions surrounding it.

This is the first organised retail format for the city comprising all major components; a hypermarket, fashion anchors, food court and multiple restaurants.

Thus, it is a complete family entertainment centre, destined to be the preferred destination for the region. The mall design is simple yet contemporary.

Sustainable measures in energy conservation have been implemented. The mall has a skylight and glass façade to maximise natural light, whilst controlling glare and solar gain at the same time.

The mall features LED lighting and an air-conditioning system designed in a manner so as to save on energy consumption. In order to celebrate the culture of this city, an area of the façade has been dedicated to local culture and paintings.

The ED sleuths suspect that some plots of the land over which Nucleus Mall is built were more than claimed in official documents.
