The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has expelled MLA Lobin Hembram from the party for a period of six years for not adhering to coalition principles, as stated in a notification signed by its President Shibu Soren and issued by the party.

This decision follows Hembram filing his nomination as an independent candidate from the Rajmahal Lok Sabha seat, a move seen as a breach of party discipline.

Hembram has also faced accusations of misleading party workers. Hembrom's discontent with the JMM high command has been brewing for some time, particularly after Hemant Soren was jailed, triggering speculation about his potential shift to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

However, instead of aligning with the BJP, Hembrom opted to contest independently.
