Two events rocked Ranchi in Jharkhand on Saturday.
One, scores of JMM workers and leaders launched road show welcome ex CM Hemant Soren who has come out of jail on bail in money laundering connected with land scam case.
Two, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma landed in Ranchi during his two days long tour. He was welcomed by BJP leaders at the airport.
Alongside, Hemant Soren stood on an open Jeep and moved from his residence in Kanke road to Birsa Munda chowk near Hinoo Chowk.
As hundreds of JMM workers and followers moved on the road, followed by a cavalcade of vehicles, each carrying green flag of the JMM with a picture of its supremo Shibu Soren, traffic was affected.

At the BJP Headquarter office, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma was meeting Adivasi leaders of the party’s Adivasi cell, youth wing.
He was addressing a meeting. Assam CM Sarma is slated to meet BJP Adivasi leaders leaders including Arjun Munda,Sudarshan Bhagat, Geeta Koda,Sita Soren, Arun Oraon.
As it is,JMM workers were busy celebrating the Jharkhand High Court’s order to grant bail to their leader Hemant Soren who appears to have galvanised them promising to fulfil their aspirations such as Sarna code, a separate religion column in census for Adivasis.
Notably, the bail for former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren on Friday has given the JMM-led coalition government in his state a much-needed shot in the arm in the run-up to the Assembly polls due later this year.
Right before his arrest in January 2023, Soren resigned from his post and made way for Champai Soren to take over as CM. In the wake of the arrest, Soren’s wife Kalpana Soren had become the face of the JMM.
With her oratory skills, she was able to invoke the Jharkhand identity and create a strong base amongst women.Now, both Kalpana Soren and Hemant Soren pose a major challenge to the BJP.
However, BJP leaders led by ex CM Babulal Marandi are busy chalking out strategy to face the JMM- Congress- RJD coalition in the forthcoming elections.Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has been deputed by the BJP high command to form a team of leaders to tackle the ruling I.N.D.I.A block in Jharkhand.
