Jitan Ram Manjhi today heads the Khadi and Village Industries Commission( KVIC). As an MP from Gaya and ally of the ruling NDA, he is the Union Minister of Micro  Small and Medium Enterprises under whose jurisdiction falls KVIC.

Acting as Union Minister for MSME, Manjhi and Minister of State for MSME Shobha Karandlaje has reviewed the performance of the Schemes/programmes run by KVIC for the development of the Khadi and Village Industries(KVI) Sector in the Country.

What plan these Ministers have in their agenda is not known, but the meeting gained significance since the development of KVIC has been a major agenda of the Modi government.

The meeting was attended among others by Manoj Kumar, Chairman, KVIC. Senior Officials of the Ministry of MSME and KVIC. 

Union Minister emphasized the need to deepen and broaden the efforts through a focused approach to the implementation of schemes for the promotion of the KVI Sector and supporting Khadi artisans.
